IBADAN – Following due process, the ambition of a frontline aspirant for the governorship of Oyo State in the 2019 general elections on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Kehinde Isiaka Olaosebikan got a boost on Monday as the Oluyole Local Government chapter of the party gave its blessing.
The leaders and members of the party at the local government gave their approval to the ambition at the weekly general meeting of the party at Olomi, after the Chairman of the party for the local government, Alhaji Waheed Akinleye presented Olaosebikan to the meeting as an aspirant for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress.
The party chairman disclosed to the tumultuous ovation of the over 1000 party faithful at the meeting that Olaosebikan was following the right path in the course of his ambition and that “he is receiving the consent of those that really matter”, a disclosure that made the whole congregation went frenzy chanting: “ Oluyole Lokan. It is Oluyole’s turn. Nothing can stop us”
Alhaji Akinleye also told the leaders and members of the party that Olaosebikan was eminently competent and capable for the governorship post as he declared: “he possesses the right credentials, personal qualities, political and administrative skills, profound contacts, commendable character and maturity required to win the race and run an excellent government”
The leader of the party in the local government who is also the Deputy Chairman of the party for the state, Honourable Lekan Adeyemo corroborated the position of Alhaji Akinleye on the gubernatorial aspirant maintaining that Olaosebikan would be a great ambassador of Oluyole as the standard flag bearer of the party in the governorship race and as the governor of Oyo State.
Hon. Adeyemo, a seasoned politician saw Olaosebikan in the mould of the incumbent governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola whom he said was “full of action, very resourceful, creative and a politician to behold”
The leader enjoined all party members in the local government not only to give their full support to the aspiration of Alhaji Olaosebikan but to work tirelessly in seeing that Olaosebikan gets the party ticket and win at the general election.
All the leaders and members who spoke at the meeting praised Olaosebikan for his rare courage, doggedness and tenacity in his struggle to better the lots of the people of Oyo State and pledged their unflinching support and commitment to his aspiration.
Olaosebikan, 56 was the Chief Press Secretary to the late Governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Lam Adesina from 1999 to 2003 and also a former two time chairman of Oluyole Local Government.
He holds a HND in Mass Communication of The Polytechnic Ibadan and a Masters Degree in Communication and Language Arts of the University of Ibadan.
Oluyole Local Government has never produced a governor of the state and since the beginning of this democracy, Oyo Central Senatorial District where Oluyole belongs has not produced the governor of Oyo State.
