Okei-Odumakin commiserates with Awolowo’s family over daughter’s death




Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, President of Women Arise, an NGO, has commiserated with the family of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, over the death of their eldest child, Mrs Tola Oyediran, aged 79 years.

Okei-Odumakin’s condolences are contained in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos.

Oyediran, fondly called Mama Ibadan, until her death was the Chairman, Board of Directors of African Newspapers of Nigeria (ANN), Publishers of the Nigerian Tribune.

She is said to have shown no sign of illness except for old age, she was still hale and hearty untill Thursday night.

Okei-Odumakin said Oyediran was a virtuous woman whose death is a big blow to all who knew her while she lived a good life .

“Her death jolts us because we have lost another good person. It is our prayer that her soul will rest in peace and that God should preserve all she left behind,” she said.
