The stakeholders meeting was held at the Presidential Lodge of the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan.
Makinde said he and other party stakeholders from the zone had settled for Lawal to be running mate, after due consultations.
Lawal, who is currently the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Housing Corporation, hails from Kisi, in Irepodun Local Government area of the state.
Among the stakeholders at the meeting were Sen. Hosea Agboola, the Chairman, Oyo State Advisory Council; State Chairman of the party; Dayo Ogungbenro and former State Chairman of the party, Kunmi Mustapha.
In another development, the office of the State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Rauf Olaniyan, who defected to the All Progressives Party (APC) from PDP, on Sunday had been relocated to the Ministry of Environment.
