Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, on Tuesday in Ibadan, sealed off a private guard company said to be operating without licence.
NSCDC’s Public Relations Officer in the state, Oluwole Olusegun, made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Oluwole said that the sealed outfit, with the name: Stallion Private Security, is situated at Samonda-University of Ibadan road, opposite Emmanuel College of Theology.
The PRO said that the Head of Department of Private Guard Companies of the corps, Deputy Commandant Folashade Adegoke, monitored the sealing of the illegal outfit.
He said that the corps would continue to carry out its mandate and the directives of the Commandant-General of the corps, Abubakar Audi, who, he said, was totally against the operation of any illegal private security outfit.
Oluwole said that activities of private security companies needed to be constantly monitored due to the current security challenges facing the country and the need for adequate protection of lives and property of the citizenry.
The corps’ Commandant in the state, Adaralewa Michael, enjoined other security outfits operating illegally in the state to do the needful by registering their companies without any further delay.
Michael said that NSCDC would not leave any stone unturned in checkmating the activities of any unregistered private security outfits in the state. (NAN)
