Rep. Paul Nnamchi (LP-Enugu state), has commended the Court of Appeal for affirming him Rep of Enugu East/Isi-uzo Federal Constituency of Enugu state.
Nnamchi gave the commendation on Saturday in a statement issued in reaction to the judgement of appellate court which reversed the decision of the Electoral Petitions Tribunal that sat in Enugu.
The Tribunal had earlier nullified Nnamchi’s election as a member of the House of Representatives.
According to him, the judgment of the Court of Appeal which sat in Lagos is a validation of the people’s will in the February 25, 2023 National Assembly election.
The lawmaker pledged to redouble his efforts in ensuring effective representation of the people in the federal legislature
He reiterated his commitment to offer purposeful representation to the people of his constituency and the entire state.
“I thank my constituents for their support and confidence in me, I also commend the Court of Appeal for upholding the mandate overwhelmingly given to me by my people.
“I will continue to champion people- oriented legislations, as well as putting all the issues affecting my constituents, and Nigerians at large, on the front burner of discourse in the parliament,” he reaffirmed.
Nnamchi extended a hand of fellowship to his challenger, Mr Cornelius Nnaji of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying there is “no victor and no vanquished”. (NAN)
