Serie A club, Napoli have removed Victor Osimhen from their domestic squad list for the 2024/25 season.
The Partenopei have also handed his squad number over to new signing Romelu Lukaku, who will now wear the no.9 shirt.
The Nigeria international failed to agree a move to either Chelsea or Al-Ahli on transfer deadline day, Prompt News reports.
The powerful striker has two years remaining on his contract with the former Serie A champions.
Osimhen had been hoping to secure a move to Al-Ahli on a whopping four-year contract worth a reported €40m per season in wages, but the move fell through when Napoli asked for more on the transfer fee.
Al-Ahli eventually decided to sign England international Ivan Toney from Brentford instead.
Chelsea on the other hand were unable to match his personal demands.
