The first in the series of Adegboyega Onigbinde U-17 Football Tourney Project will hold at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan (former Liberty Stadium) from October 20 to 31, 2021.
The project conceived by the need for a first-rate youth soccer developmental platform is coming on the heels of partnership of the Onigbinde Forum with the Oyo State Football Association, Oyo State Sports Council, Nigeria Football Coaches Association Oyo State chapter and the Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
The competition will also serve the army of vastly talented youth in Oyo State in particular and Nigeria in general.
Thirty two teams from Lagos, Ogun, Kwara, Osun and Oyo States are expected to participate in the competition.
The Onigbinde Forum which has the 1st vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Barrister Seyi Akinwumi as patron also has a 7-man planning committee members; Mrs Adegoke O.J (chairperson) Mr Sunday Folarin (vice chairperson), Mr Niyi Alebiosu, Mr Kehinde Ojelowo, Mr Sanusi Musiliu, Mrs Hababa Oloyede, Mrs Oyadiran Funmi and Rasheed Saraki who will serve as secretary.
According to the committee, the project is basically to educate the youth and impart on them true patriotism and positive attitudes for national development.
