Akogun Olugbenga Omole, the Chairman of the Ondo State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Youth and Sports Development, has congratulated Dele Ajayi and Gbenga Elegbeleye on their elevation to the management level of football administration in the country.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ajayi was, on Saturday in Benin City, elected as one of the two board members representing the South-West region on the executive board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Also, Gbenga Elegbeleye was appointed as the Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), the committee saddled with the responsibility of revitalising the premier league in the country.
Omole, in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Akure, said that Ondo State scored a brace in Nigeria’s football management.
He said that the state had, once again, proved its mettle in football administration in Nigeria as two of its prominent sons got elevation into the football management team at the national level with the mandate to improve the sport.
Omole noted that both men would do the state proud in their various capacities to move football forward in the country.
“On behalf of the various sports’ stakeholders in Ondo State, I congratulate both men on this laudable achievement and wish them all the best as they steer the ship of Nigeria’s football to an enviable height.
“I have no doubt as to the positive impact these gentlemen will have on our football administration and look forward to celebrating more wins. Congratulations again,” he said. (NAN)
