Governor Abdullahi A Sule of Nasarawa state has drawn a battle line with bandits in Toto Local Government Area of the state just as he assured that security personnel will be deployed to nooks and crannies to fish out criminals from their hide outs.
According to the governor, the commandant of 177 battalion in Keffi LGA and other top military officers are meeting in Gwagwalada Abuja, to map out strategies to rid Toto of kidnappers and bandits destabilizing the peace and security of the LGA.
Gov Sule reiterated this during a town hall meeting held at the Toto LGA secretariat, on Wednesday.
The governor, who embarked on visits to communities to commission projects and listen to complaints from the people as part of the activities lined up to commemorate his two years in office, assured the commuters that insecurity will be a thing of the past in no distant time.
Recall that coincidentally, unknown gunmen killed one Adamu Usman and abducted 13 persons along Ugya-Umasha road in Toto LGA, a night before the governor’s visit.
“Without security there is nothing else, security is job one when it comes to this administration.
“Just for your information, I have the information already sent to me early this morning because of the attack that happened last night.
“Today if you look around, you will not see the commandant of 177 with me, the reason is that they are having a meeting in Gwagwalada and between tonight and tomorrow they will enter the bush by the grace of God,” he stated.
Sule assured them that the bandits and kidnappers will be dealt with the same way the army dislodged Darul-Salam from Uttu forest.
Earlier, Hajiya Mairo Usman, a stakeholder in Toto LGA lamented the incessant killings and deteriorating security in Toto, despite government efforts.
She condemned the recent killing of a driver by name Adamu Usman and kidnapping of 13 passengers as she appealed to the governor, to device a means to tackle the security problem once and for all.
