Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has revealed that she has “left the streets”, a phrase often used to describe someone who is no longer actively searching for romantic relationships or has settled down.
Tems made the disclosure during a TikTok livestream on Monday, although she did not provide details about what prompted the decision.
The singer suggested that her choice was influenced by her frustration with men who waste her time, saying she no longer wants to deal with such experiences.
“I don’t like it when guys waste my time. But for me, never again. I don’t have that problem anymore. I have left the streets; I wouldn’t even say I was ever on the streets,” she said.
Her comment has sparked curiosity among fans, particularly because the singer did not clarify whether her statement was linked to a new relationship or another personal decision.
Prompt News reports Tems has previously spoken about her experiences with men who approach her romantically, expressing concerns about their intentions.
