Ikono Ibom Development Union, the apex socio-cultural organization in Ikono Ibom Clan in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, has elected new Exco to pilot the affairs of the Union for the next four years.
The new Executive has Evang. Mike Essien (Akparawa Mike) as the National President, to be assisted by Comrade Anietie Elijah Obot, who will serve as the National Vice President.
Also elected to move the Union forward are Amb. Abasiama Udoisong JP , [National Secretary General), Hon. Bassey Orok ( National Financial Secretary), Mr. Idongesit Wilder Sunday ( Assistant National Secretary General ). Mr. Udeme Akpan ( Publicity Secretary ), Mr. Nelson Ubong Effiong ( National Welfare Officer).
Others are: Rose Jeremiah Alfred ) National Woman Leader 1 ), Mrs. Eno Asukwo Ebong ( National Woman Leader 2 ), Mr. Iniobong Kufre Umoh ( National Treasurer ), Elder Imoh Oton ( National Auditor ), Comrade Aniefiok Mfon Edet ( National Youth Leader 1), Mr. Atangese Akpanettot ( National Youth Leader 2 ) and Mr. Innocent Pius Akpan ( National Provost).
Also, gracing the occasion was the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Anieti Udofia, member, Uyo State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Uwemedimo Ndianabasi Asukwo, First Deputy President, Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, Dr. Tommy Etim Okon, Secretary Uyo Local Government Council, Mr. Ubong Udofia, the immediate past President of IIDU, Dr. Ime Ekpo, Former Transition Chairman, Uyo Local Government Council and Head of Department, Medical Biochemistry, University of Uyo, Dr. (Mrs.) Grace Ekpo.

Also in attendance are: Chairman BOT ,IIDU and Chairman, Committee of Deans , University of Uyo, Prof. Dianabasi Eduwem, Special Assistant to His Excellency, Mr. Ifiok George, Chapter Chairman of P.D.P, Hon. Anthony Nelson Ekong, Chairman, Calabar branch of IIDU, Dr. Effiong Ekpo, Councillors, supervisors, Chairman,Forum of former Local Government Chairmen, Chief Clement Ekott, and very senior sons and daughters of Ikono Ibom Clan.
Certificate of completion was given to Dr. Ime Ekpo, for his meritorious service to the IIDU. The new Exco were presented with certificates of return.
