A 41-year-old hair stylist, Yusuf Adeola, on Tuesday pleaded guilty to stealing bottles of exotic wine worth one million Naira from a supermarket.
The stylist appeared before an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, where he was charged by the police.
The defendant, who resides at Ikota in Ajah area of Lagos, admitted guilt before Magistrate O.A.Daodu.
According to the prosecutor, Insp Sunday Bassey, the defendant stole bottles of wine on Jan. 4 at Kofa Hartley Supermarket located at Ogudu.
Bassey said that the defendant had, for sometime, been stealing wine from the supermarket.
“He was caught on a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera stealing bottles of wine valued at N600,000.
“He stole another one worth N400, 000 on a different day.
“A security guard working for Shepherd Hill Security Company and attached to the supermarket caught the defendant, using the CCTV footage, after he was accused of negligence of duty. READ ALSO:

“The defendant came again on Jan. 4 to steal more bottles of wine but was finally apprehended.
“He confessed to stealing Martell Wine sometime in November and selling it to a woman in Apogbon Market on Lagos island for N500,000,” he said.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.
The magistrate adjourned the case until Jan. 26 for review of the facts and sentencing. (NAN)
