The Kaduna state governor, Sen. Uba Sani, has felicitates with the new Kaduna House of Assembly Speaker and his Deputy, urging them to ensure a seamless executive/legislative relationship while carrying everyone along irrespective of differences.
Gov. Sani made the call on Tuesday in Kaduna when he received the new speaker and members on a courtesy visit to appreciate the governor for his support.
Gov. Sani also commended the transparent and fair process that led to the emergence of the two distinguished lawmakers as leaders of the legislative arm of government in Kaduna State.
Calling for a strong and cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government in Kaduna State, Gov. Sani emphasized that such collaboration and cooperation would enthrone sustainable development and ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every citizen.
According to him, focus should only be in public interest before personal interest, as “we are here to serve the people and the state, irrespective of ethics, religion and political differences”.
He said his administration is open for everyone, adding “irrespective of the burden and responsibilities that we all carry, my doors will always remain open for everyone any time.”
The Governor, while wishing the new principal officers and other members of the 10th Assembly a successful tenure in office, promised to ensure independence of the legislative arm, to enable the Assembly function effectively.
Earlier in his remarks, the Speaker, Yusuf Liman, said the aim of the visit was to express their appreciation to the governor as a father.
He said they are ready to work with the government for the development of the state. (NAN)
