Barring any change in programme President Muhammadu Buhari is expected in Cross River state soon to personally launch G-Money and commission an Agro Industrial Park in Calabar.
This much was disclosed today in Abuja by the Cross River state Governor, Professor Ben Ayade while briefing State House Correspondents after paying a working visit to the President at Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He revealed that the President will during the visit commission an Agro Industrial Park which is expected to create jobs for 2,000 people who will get at least 5-hectares of land for rice farming.
According to Gov. Ayade, “We have agreed but without any particular date that Mr President will come to Cross River state yet again to commission a new programme called G-Money. G- Money is an empowerment of young people through Agriculture. Job creation through Agriculture. Establishing a massive equipment.
“We as Cross River state government we have procured a massive equipment from John Deer of United States of America (USA) which is the biggest company in the world for deforestation, land clearing, land preparation for Agriculture,”the governor disclosed.
He also said; “So with the partnership we have with Tata as the local partner, we have made order and have taken delivery of large number of tractors, bulldozers, payloaders, excavators, the list is endless.
So we are going to create jobs for 2, 000 people who will at least 5- hectares of land for rice farming.
Mr. President will flag-off the G-Money Programme which is Green Economy focussing on Agriculture as a way forward.”
