Les Bleues of France claimed a 2-0 victory over Nigeria’s Super Falcons in a friendly on Saturday night.
Prompt News reports that the encounter at the Stade Raymond Kopa, Angers was played under frosty and misty weather.
Marie-Antoinette Katoto had the ball in the net in the 7th minute, only to be correctly ruled offside.
The hosts however took the lead a minute before the half hour mark through Eugenie Claudine Le Sommer.
it was 2-0 after Tunisia-born Amel Majri got the ball past goalkeeper and stand-in captain Chiamaka Nnadozie.
The Super Falcons reduced the deficit late in the first half with Ifeoma Onumonu chipping the ball home from a counter attack.
It was nine-time African champions first-ever goal against the French.
No goal was recorded in the second half with both teams coming close to scoring on several occasions.
