Nigeria’s U-17 female side, Flamingoes have booked a ticket to the quarter final stage of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Costa-Rica.
The game which was played in the early hours of Thursday saw Flamingoes go down as early as the 3rd minute but a beautiful free kick from Joy Bokiri in the 26th minute and a header by Uchenna Kanu in the 59th minute was all the coach Bala Nikyu girls needed to secure a quater final berth.
Nigeria has thus done a double over Colombia as they beat them 3-0 at the last World Cup in Azerbaijan.
The team will take on Mexico on March 23,in their last group match to determine group winner as both teams have same 6 points but Mexico lead with superior goals difference.
Colombia and China tackle each other in their last group match.
