The Federal Government has constituted a committee to investigate Team Nigeria‘s disastrous outing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Consequently, the 7-man committee is charged to investigate various negative exposures to the country during the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The following are members of the committee:
1. Dr Mumuni Alao (South West) Chairman
2. Aliyu Mohammed(NW)Member
3. Hajia Rakiya Muhammed (NC)Member
4. Godwin Enakhena(SS)Member
5. Dr Abubakar Ango(NE)Member
6. Christy Opara(SE)Member
7. Barr Victor Okangbe(SS)Secretary
The committee will be inaugurated at 11 am on Wednesday, 25th September 2024 at the Media Centre, MKO Abiola Stadium Package A, Abuja.
The committee’s terms of reference will be provided at the inauguration.
Meanwhile, the ministry has convened the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Post Games Audit and Review meeting for Tuesday, 24th Sept, 2024.
Those invited to the meeting are:
1. President and Secretary General of Nigeria Olympic Committee(NOC) and Paralympic Committee of Nigeria (PCN)
2. Presidents, Secretarys’ General, Technical Directors and Coaches of all twelve Sports to the Olympics and all four sports to the Paralympics
3. Members of the Ministerial Podium Performance Committee
4. Heads of Technical Departments of the Ministry .
The venue of the meeting is the Media Centre, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja. Time is 11am.
