Popular Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti, son of late afrobeat icon, Fela Kuti and Damian Marley, son of Reggae music legend, Bob Marley are set to release a music collaboration titled ‘Dey’.
This was made known by Seun Kuti through his official Instagram account on 19th of June, 2024.
However, the anticipated song will be the first collaboration from the great music families.
The upcoming track, titled “Dey,” will feature Seun Kuti’s Egypt 80 alongside Damian Marley, promising a fusion of Afrobeat and reggae that is sure to resonate with fans across the globe.
The historical song is to be released on 26th of June, 2024, which will come ahead of Seun Kuti’s new album.
The Grammy-nominated Afrobeat star revealed that American music icon Lenny Kravitz will be the executive producer.
Recall that earlier this year, a movie about Bob Marley was released and the soundtrack featured two Nigerian stars, Wizkid and Bloody Civilian.
At the movie premiere, Bob Marley’s granddaughter Zuri Marley, mentioned Fela Kuti and Burna Boy’s name when she was asked which Nigerian artists she would have wanted her grandfather to work with.
