Determined to grab a win in Addis Ababa, Nigeria’s technical crew has unleashed the trio of Asisat Oshoala, Uchenna Kanu and Gift Monday on Ethiopia’s Lucy in today’s first leg of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games African qualifiers double-header at Abebe Bikila Stadium, Addis Ababa.
Prompt News has exclusively gathered that Super Falcons coaches have setted for an all-out attack against the East Africans who are known to have alot of energy to stay the course of the game.
For this reason, Super Falcons technical crew made up of Justin Madugu, Ann Agumanu-Chiejine and Auwal Makwalla have selected the 11 starters they believe will give the Ethiopians a run for their money.
The list showed that the coaches have implicit confidence on Paris FC reliable goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie who has been in excellent form since her heroics in the last FIFA Women’s World Cup final in Australia and New Zealand where she saved a crucial penalty in the match against Canada.
Nigerian defence will feature overlapping Michelle Alozie, Ogbonna Akudo, Oluwatosin Demehin and Nicole Payne while Peace Efih,
Rasheedat Ajibade and Toni Payne will hold the midfield tight.
Also, the consortiumof coaches who have taken up the task in the absence of head coach Randy Waldrum who excused himself from the trip to Ethiopia to attend to personal issues have opted for the trio of Uchenna Kanu, Gift Monday and Asisat Oshoala to attack Ethiopia.
It is their thinking that the 4-3-3 Formation will allow Alozie and Nicole to support attack while Akudo and Demehin stay to guard against intruders when Nigeria is attacking to suffocate the Ethiopians. READ ALSO:
