The immediate-past President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Osaigbovo Anthony Akpata, SAN, has been declared winner of the Labour Party (LP) governorship primary election held in Benin City capital of Edo state on Friday.
After the exercise held under a calm atmosphere Friday afternoon in Benin City, the Chairman of the
Electoral Committee and the Deputy Governor of Abia state Ikechukwu Emetu on behalf of LP National Working Committee (NWC) declared Akpata as the winner.
He was declared winner having scored the highest number of votes cast in the election. He scored 316 votes to beat other aspirants.
