Levi Colwill scored the decisive goal as Chelsea returned to the UEFA Champions League following a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, Prompt News reports.
Colwill struck struck shortly after half-time to put Chelsea in front.
Enzo Maresca’s side put up a resolute display at the back to ensure a second victory in their last 11 away games.
Defeats for Newcastle and Villa meant Chelsea could afford to draw and still find themselves in the top five.
Instead, the Blues went for maximum points in an hostile environment.
Chelsea finished the season in a respectable fourth position.
Nottingham Forest ended the campaign in seventh position, and will play in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season.
