The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has given former Senator representing Ekiti North, Ayo Arise the task of reconciling all warring members of the party in Ekiti State ahead of the June 21, 2014 governorship election.
Arise, who confirmed this in a statement issued on Sunday, said former Speaker of the old Ondo State, Femi Akinyemi, former member of the State House of Assembly, Bisi Kolawole, Dele Okeya among others will serve in the committee.
He said, “We have been working to bring all aggrieved parties together in the interest of Ekiti State, its people and the PDP.
“Particularly, I have personally reached out to Prince Dayo Adeyeye, who is a major contender in the governorship race and I will also reach out to other aspirants.
“No doubt, the reconciliation effort is yielding results and in the next few days, the people of Ekiti State, especially PDP supporters will be informed on the level of grounds that have been covered.
“My concern as a loyal party man is that PDP must win Ekiti State and we won’t allow internal crisis to destroy our chance of returning to government in the State.
“Therefore, all our party members and supporters should remain calm and refrain from listening to rumour and hearsays.
“When all issues and settled and agreements reached, we will inform our people,” Arise said.
On the consensus option, Arise said; “I think we have gone past that stage now.”
