***As heavy downpour threatens election
By Harry Awurumibe, Editor, Abuja Bureau
Determined to stop the influence of money in Nigeria politics, the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes (EFCC) have arrested some suspected vote-buyers in the ongoing Edo State Governorship election.
The suspects were arrested in the Egor Local Government Area (LGA) of the state around 10:00 am after the pools have opened for the public.
EFCC officials who effected the arrests left the location with three suspects, two males and a female in their waiting cars.
However, some residents of Egor LGA who witnessed the arrest this morning kicked against the arrest, insisting those who were arrested are being victimized.
