By Gracious Akujobi Head coach of Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi has said that the outcome of the all important Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo on Saturday, will not determine his future with the national team.
Keshi at a media in Abuja said he alone will decide when to call it quit, adding that his future does not depend on the game in Point Noire.
“It is not must that I should remain Super Eagles coach for life. I am not depending on this match to get contract so don’t think that I want to die as Eagles coach.
“I captained this team for 14 years and I have also coached for some years
“People should not think that without Super Eagles we will not exist, I came from somewhere and if I leave Nigeria, I will get another job.
“So my career cannot be over with the Eagles job, it is just starting” he stated
On the reason the Eagles lost the first leg in Calabar, Keshi said that it was due to underrating of the Congolese by the entire team, and assured that it will never happen again as the boys are angling to go.
“Whatever happens, Nigerians will have cause to celebrate on Saturday because the Eagles are ready to take their pound of flesh in Congo” he concluded.
