There was an explosion Sunday in Damaturu, Yobe State capital in the north eastern part of Nigeria.
Prompt News gathered that the explosion which was said to have occurred in Damaturu market at about 12.30pm, left scores dead and several others injured.
As at the time of filling this report, rescue operation was reported to be ongoing by emergency services.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack but it is believed that it may have been carried out by the Boko insurgents.
The sect, Boko Haram has intensified attacks in the frontline states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe and recently in Gombe State.
