Covid-19: Nigeria yet to certify Madagascar Covid Organic – Minister

The much trumpeted Madagascar covid organic products for the treatment of COVID-19 have not been certified fit for human consumption by Nigeria’s health authorities.

This much was disclosed on Thursday in Abuja by Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire who said the Madagascar organic products have not been certified for the treatment of Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients in the country yet.

The Minister who spoke at the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 press briefing disclosed that the preliminary tests carried out by relevant Federal Government agencies showed that the components of the Madagascar Organic products contain
plants which are found in large quantity in Nigeria.

Dr. Ehanire revealed that the agencies will carry out more tests to determine its efficacious values before it will be recommended for the treatment of Covid-19 patients in the country.

PromptNews recalls that the PTF had two months ago acknowledged receiving a shipment of the controversial Madagascar organic products but promised to subject it to scientific testing first.
