COVID-19: Niger distributes safety materials to 3,124 primary schools

The Niger State Universal Basic Education (NSUBEB) has distributed COVID-19 safety materials to 3,124 primary schools across the 25 local government areas of the state.

Dr Isah Adamu, Chairman of NSUBEB, said this while handing over the materials to 25 education secretaries in Minna on Tuesday.

He disclosed that the state governor approved N181 million for the purchase of the safety materials.

“This safety materials are to be used by every primary school and they should be maintained for effective usage. This is part of the state government efforts to protect the lives of pupils and teachers as schools have resumed,” he said.

The materials include; infrared thermometer 3,124, hand wash 3,124, bleach 9,372, waste drums 3,124, fumigators 3,124, banners 3,124 and water dispensers 3,124.

He noted that the safety materials was part of the state government efforts in ensuring that the lives of pupils and teachers were protected against the deadly coronavirus.

The chairman disclosed that the board had put in place measures to monitor and ensure compliance to COVID-19 protocols in the primary schools.
