Covid-19: Enugu Clergyman tasks Christian faithful to stay safe, observe health protocols

The Vicar in charge of Emmanuel Anglican Church, Achara Layout, Uwani in Enugu state, Venerable (Dr.) Ghamzi has admonished his Parishioners to continue to observe all recommended health protocols in other to defeat the deadly Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.

The Medical Doctor cum Clergyman stated this today in his Sermon titled: ‘Emmanuel; God with us’ just as he reminded them of the importance of observing all the health protocols laid down by the Federal Government agencies by taking personal responsibility.

According to him “It’s by the grace of God Nigeria has not recorded high number of casualties like some other countries in the world such as Italy, United kingdom (UK) Brazil and United states of America (USAì.

“People of God let everyone know that Covid-19 is real. It has killed many people across the world. We must obey the recommended health advisory including wearing of face masks and constant washing of hands. Use hand sanitizers and maintain physical distancing”, he advised the congregation.

Ven. (Dr) Ghamzi however told the Christian faithful especially those in Africa to be grateful to God who in his infinite mercy not allowed many deaths in the country, pointing out that “the western world are surprised of the low Covid-19 fatalities in Africa”.

He therefore assured the faithful that they will overcome the pandemic if they trust in God and observe all the health protocols.

The preacher thanked the congregation for attending the Holy Communion Service which was also observed as the 1st Sunday of the Month ThanksgivingService.

Meanwhile, Prompt News observed the church authority ensured that worshippers used hand sanitizers, wore face masks and clearly observed physical distancing.
