A Dei-Dei Grade 1 Area Court Abuja, on Wednesday ordered the remand of a 22-year-old trader, Efemona Adigu , in a correctional centre for allegedly insulting and threatening to kill his brother.
The police charged Adigu who resides in No 15E Dutse Jabu Abuja, with criminal intimidation.
The Judge, Saminu Suleiman ordered that the defendant be remanded in correctional Service facility in Suleja, until June 7, for hearing, after his denial of the offence.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Mr Chinedu Ogada, told the court that the complainant, Israel Adigu who is the brother to the defendant reported the matter at the Galadima Police Station on May 14.
Ogada, said that the defendant dishonestly went to Heam 7 market, 6th Avenue Gwarinpa, Abuja and sold his mother’s goods without their consent.
He said when the complainant demanded for the money the defendant sold from their mother’s goods, he started insulting him and threatens to kill and burn down his house.
The prosecution said during police investigation, the defendant made a confessional statement and threaten to kill his brother in the presence of the police officers.
He said that the offence contravened the provisions of section 397 of Penal Code
