An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan on Tuesday ordered that a 30-year-old man, Muritala Muhammad in Abolongo Correctional facility for alleged murder.
The police charged Muritala, whose address was not given with murder.
The Senior Magistrate, Mrs Patricia Adetuyibi did not take the plea of Muritala for want in
jurisdiction.
Adetuyibi directed the police to return the case file to the Oyo State Ministry of Justice for legal advice.
She adjourned the matter until July 4, for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Salewa Hammed told the court that Muritala on May 1, at about 5pm in Agbanda village , Ikoyi – Ile in Ogbomoso area of Oyo State allegedly caused the death of Jacob Adeoye, 65.
Hammed alleged that Muritala poured substance suspected to be acid all over the body of the victim on the farm after comitting the act.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 316 and punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.(NAN)
