A former Governor of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has conceded the picking of a presidential running mate to a committee set up on Monday for that purpose.

However, national leader, Bola Tinubu was conspicuously absent at the meeting held at the Rivers Government Lodge in Abuja.
The party leadership has held series of meetings since it concluded its presidential primaries which produced a former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari as its presidential candidate last weekend.
Another marathon meeting of the Leadership Caucus held on Monday in Abuja, to pick Buhari’s running mate was stalemated as decision could not be reached.

Consequently, a seven-man committee was set up including a former governor of Gombe state, Danjuma Goje and a former Interim National Chairman of the party, Bisi Akande as members.
The committee has now been saddled with the responsibility of picking the running mate and to immediately announce its choice to the public.
Prompt News gathered that the committee was however directed to pick the running mate from the South West among the serving governors or ex-governors.
It was also gathered that those now in contention for the position are former governors Kayode Fayemi, Niyi Adebayo and Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
Governor Babatunde Fashola has been ruled out because of teh party’s decision not to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
