A 42nd minute goal scored by forward Raimi En-Nesyri was all that Morocco needed to defeat highly rated Portugal to qualify for the semi finals stage of the on-going FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
En-Nesyri’s headed goal set a stage for a crunchy match as the Portuguese came from the half time break blazing but the North Africans dug in and also created chances of their own to win the game.
The victory of Morocco even with 10-men after attacker Chedderi was shown a second yellow card has reverberated across the African continent as no Africa country has gone beyond the quarter finals of FIFA World Cup final.
