Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-1).
The Governor announced this via his twitter handle @seyiamakinde, “I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate.”
The state has recorded seven (7) positive cases so far, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.
Prompt News recalls that Governor Makinde, who has been in isolation had last week promised to step forward to be tested once the laboratory at UCH Ibadan becomes operational. #Covid19Nigeria.
Gov Makinde also tweets “I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully. Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe.”
