Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his wife, Edith, have tested positive for coronavirus, codenamed COVID-19.
The governor announced this via his verified Twitter handle @IAOkowa this morning (Wednesday).
He thanked the people for their prayers for his family while on isolation.
“My wife and I have tested positive for COVID-19. We are well and continuing with our isolation/medication. We thank you all for your continued prayers for us and our daughter” the governor tweeted @IAOkowa.
Prompt News reports that yesterday (Tuesday), Ondo state governor Rotimi Akeredolu, also announced that he tested positive for the virus and has consequently gone one self-isolation.
Recall also that Governors Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna and Seyi Makinde of Oyo had tested positive for COVID-19 and had recovered.
