The Bauchi State Urban Water and Sewerage Corporation (BSUWSC), says it will resume water supply to Bauchi metropolis after partial disruption of its activities due to power outage.
Mr Aminu Gital, the Managing Director of the Corporation, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday in Bauchi that the agency would resume water supply on Saturday.
He said that water supply services were disrupted on Tuesday due to breakdown of electricity transformer at its treatment plant.
The situation resulted to acute water supply forcing residents in the metropolis to patronised unwholesome water from vendors.
“Efforts have been intensified to fix the transformer and ensure residents of the metropolis get their taps running again.
“We already fixed the transformer which is now test run. I assure residents of normal water supply would be restored in the metropolis on Saturday,” he said.
Gital attributed the scarcity to frequent failure of the national grid which affected its equipment.
“It also burnt the transformer three days back, that means you either replace or repair it depending on the time frame.

“We have come to the end of the repair work and by tomorrow people would start seeing water in their taps,’’ he said.
While calling for patience and understanding, Gital assured residents of uninterrupted water supply. (NAN)
