The Bauchi State Government has sacked the management of Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Wikki Tourists football club.
The letter conveying the sack of the club chairman Balarabe Douglas and members of his management committee was signed by Danjuma Garba on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, which also copied the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in the state, was dated August 8, 2023.
Which reads in part that, “I am directed to refer to the Government’s pronouncement of Thursday, 25th May, 2023 on the disengagement of Political Office Holders in the State.
“And to inform you that the disengagement order also affected your office as Chairman, Wikki Tourists Football Club and other members of the Management Team of the Club, hence, you cease to be the Management team of the Club.”
“Consequently, I am further directed to request you to hand-over the affairs of Wikki Tourists Football Club to the Ministry of Youth and Sports with immediate effect, pending the reconstitution of the Management of the Club”, Danjuma Garba concluded in the said letter. READ ALSO:

This action may may not be far fetched from the fact that under Balarabe Douglas, Wikki Tourists got relegated from the NPFL to the NNL, reports also have it that the club has been under controversial circumstances, accusing Balarabe Douglas of unnecessary interference in their duties.
