The desire to represent my people isn’t born out of desperation but the earnest intention to transform the lives of my people. The focus among others, was to bring more glory to Ogbomosoland.
Undoubtedly, we have in the past had great men who stood and made our land well recognized across the globe but of recent, our past representatives have failed to deliver the dividends of democracy to the good people of Ogbomoso.
These among many reasons, geared towards changing the narrative, culminated in my desire and aspiration to represent the people of Ogbomoso south, North and Orire Federal constituency.
In the last one year, we have been able to facilitate some empowerment programmes from the federal government to our people, even while not in power.
So the zeal to do more and nothing else, was what drove our passion to represent the people at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
The passion became stronger as we transverse through the length and breadth of the three-local government. The neglect we saw as we moved from Iluju town to Ikoyi-Ile in Orire local government sparked another interest in me. The people gave us overwhelming support and their heartfelt blessings.
The same was experienced by me and my team when I visited our royal father, His Royal Highness, Oba Samuel Babatunde Oyebamiji Amao, Aale of Okelerin.
However, the party is supreme, as they say. The party leaders from Oyo state & more particularly, Oyo North prevailed on me to step down my ambition. With the intervention of Senator Fatai Buhari, I have listened to their advice and decided to toe the party line.
Borrowing from the words of a great man, Nelson Mandela, “Quitting is leading too”. Hence, I will continue to support the party and the good people of Ogbomosoland in whatever capacity that I can.
Let me use this medium to specifically thank all my esteemed supporters across all groups – corporate and political circles, who have opulently accorded me with tremendous show of love through their financial, technical & material support for my aspiration to represent our good people of Ogbomosoland.
To all the local & ward leaders, the distinguished delegates, Team Ayobami, I am highly honored by your moral support and I am eternally grateful to you.
My decision to withdraw from the race is out of respect for party leaders and bears no animosity or grudge against anybody .
