The 15 Field Engineering Regiment of Nigerian Army, Topo, Badagry, has pledged improved relationship with the Lagos State University School of Basic Education and Advanced Studies (LASUSBAS).
Lt. Col. Sagir Lawan, the Commanding Officer of the regiment, made the pledge during his courtesy visit to the institution in Badagry on Tuesday.
Lawan said his visit to the institution was to further strengthen the existing relationship between the army and LASUSBAS, as they were just few metres away from one another.
He also said the visit was to have a better and mutual understanding of the school and its environs.
The commanding officer, who also went round the institution to have a firsthand knowledge of the premises and infrastructure therein, expressed satisfaction with what was on ground.
According to him, I am impressed and satisfied with the school.
Responding, Prof Yunus Dauda, Director, LASUSBAS, revealed that the school would soon begin courses on defence and security.
According to Dauda, this will be an avenue for interested officers to acquire more knowledge.
He noted that personnel of the Nigerian army were always very nice people, in spite of people having contrary thoughts or feelings.
”Personnel of the Nigerian army are easy-going and friendly with people.
“On one side, we have the Nigerian army, and on the other side, we have the Nigerian Navy. I always feel secure whenever I’m here.

“We had a cordial relationship with the previous commandant, and we assure you of our corporation.
“We hope that this relationship will extend to a comfortable end, as you can also enroll your child in our school.
“We recognise your magnanimity, humility, and simplicity,” he said. (NAN)
