Anambra State Football Association Chairman, Mr Chikelue Iloenyosi has described the action of suspended state FA Scribe Chijioke Oyedika as match fixing and deliberate attempt to ridicule the state football under my watch

Speaking in Abuja, the former Super Eagles defender explained that the decision banning Mr Chijioke was taken for organising Anambra traders cup competition without approval from the state FA and also to save the interest and integrity of football within the state.

In a swift response to the letter from the state sports commission giving an ultimatum to FA Chairman to publicly tender an open apology on any of the national daily’s within 48hrs to withdraw his pronouncement on Chijioke, the former international described the letter as a cheap blackmail which attempts to set him up to be in dispute with the state governor, stating that the traders cup competition organized by the suspended Scribe does not supercede the governor’s cup which has been up and running.

The “General” as he is fondly called by many, equally made it clear that he is not a staff of the commission, and as such, he is only answerable to the Nigeria Football Federation and works through the status of the NFF, CAF and FIFA alone, stressing that the letter served is absolutely baseless.

“The suspension of Chijioke Onyedika was as a result of the anti football activities he was carrying on in the state, we have what they call community shell game that the governor came to grace the occasion, that was the game that contains 179 communities and 21 local government and we have been doing that tournament successfully, the tournament comes around with the state football association and all of a sudden I heard they were playing traders cup by the sports commission”

“I am warning him now that I am not under the sports commission, I am not his staff, am answerable to the Nigeria Football Federation, the letter they wrote to us with a 48 hour ultimatum to publicly tender an apology on a national daily is baseless, I cannot be pushed around, I worked through the status of the NFF, CAF and FIFA”

Speaking further, Mr Chikelue also accuse Chijioke of match fixing, stating categorically that he wrote to the referees council not to honor the traders cup but Chijioke went ahead to recruit unknown personnel to officiate matches, which led to the drastic measures he took against him.

“Chijioke Onyedika did not write any letter to the FA or the sports commission for the approval of the traders cup, and I gave the order for all the referee association not to go for the competition, that was the situation on ground” READ ALSO:

“After asking the referees council not to honor the tournament, they went and start inviting people to come and officiate the match for them and this is purely match fixing, on that occasion, I have to invite Chijioke to the technical committee, they invited him 3 time and he refused to show up and that was why we served him the 5 year ban”

“I have already sent a letter to CAF and FIFA because this is match fixing, am not taking it likely. it’s match fixing because the referee council have already sent a letter to me that they are not aware of the tournament and they are not the ones that approved the tournament for anybody and the people officiating the matches are not referees from Anambra state, they just come from nowhere, and they are not wearing referees uniform, if the chairman sports commission did not take his steps back I will ban him from football”. Said Anambra f. a Chairman
