Nigeria’s track and field queen, Oluwatobiloba Amusan been ranked the best women’s athlete in Africa and fifth best in the globe for 2022 by the World Athletics, report Prompt News.
Amusan, who missed out on the Women’s Athlete of the Year award had a memorable outing in the athletics circuit this year.
The dark skinned athlete was one of the top performers at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States.
Amusan made history as the first Nigerian to win gold medal in the annals of the World Athletics Championships by coming tops in the 100m hurdles.
The Ogun State born athlete also set a new world record of 12.12s.
The 24-year-old also won gold medal in the same event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and successfully defended her Diamond League crown.
