Amosun, in his Christmas message, signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Wakama, said with prayers, the country can overcome the insurgency and bloodletting currently being carried out in some parts of the country.
The governor also urged parents to be vigilant and ensure that their children and wards are not used as tools for violence during campaigns and the forth coming elections.
“Let me appeal to parents to keep watchful eyes on their children and wards, so that they do not become ready tools for some politicians who do not wish them well.
“As the various political parties begin their campaigns and we move towards the election period, let us always pray for our nation and shun all forms of violence. We are Nigerians and we have nowhere else to go. We should also pray that God touches the hearts of those shedding the blood of innocent citizens,” he added.
While wishing Christian faithful a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year, the governor also thanked residents of the state for their support, which he noted, has led to the tremendous achievements of his administration in the past 45 months.
