Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has been accused of showing last minute desperation to save himself from disgrace by conspiring to annul the votes of over 1.5 million APC members.
According to a Lagos APC chieftain who pleaded anonymity, “Members of the party on Tuesday filed out in their millions to cast their ballot for candidates of their choice in what many observers adjudged as free and fair and highly participatory primary election in Lagos.
“Elections were held in all wards and every part of the State early Tuesday morning.”
However, the chieftain noted that the national election committee sent from Abuja shocked every journalist who converged on Protea hotel for a press conference addressed by its chairman, Mr. Clement Ebiri.
Ebiri, he said claimed that the election that was held across the State earlier in the morning is null and void, saying that the committee would conduct another round of election today’s evening.
“The press conference, which was organized by Gov Ambode’s business associates Michael Dada of PRM Africa. Protea hotel in the last one week has become Ambode’s campaign operational office.
*When a journalist asked why the committee refused to use or move to the party office, Ebiri could not give a convincing answer,” the APC chieftain said.
