Former Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum Resources, Deziani Alison-Madueke and four others have been under investigation since 2013, the National Crime Agency, United Kingdom has said.
The agency on its website said that Alison-Madueke was arrested in relation to offences bordering on bribery and money laundering.
It stated further that all the five people arrested on Friday were released on conditional police bail later that evening, pending further investigation both in the UK and overseas.
“The investigation commenced in 2013 under the Proceeds of Corruption Unit, and transferred to the NCA earlier this year,” the Crime Agency stated.
