By Mohammed Yangida, Lafia Governor Umaru Al-makura of Nasarawa State has donated N20 million to Orange Marketers Association in Karu local Government area of the state.
He made the pronouncement on Wednesday in continuation of his seven days working visit to the area.
According to him, the donation is meant to speed up the completion of the remaining aspect of the work as well as to ensure and facilitate early movement into the market within the next one month.
He said the market will add tremendous amount of value to commercial activities within Karu axis and will wipe up sales by the road side if completed.
“Orange market is a communal market that Government has a very minimal support into it, the market has compliment Government in providing certain facilities that ordinarily would have being the government responsibility,” he said.
The Governor also gave GAS Construction Company that is handling the bridge linking Karu town and the new TA’AL orange market two weeks to complete the project or face revocation.
