Ajimobi will be remembered for his hardwork, sense of humour — Amosun

Senator Abiola Ajimobi

A former Governor of Ogun, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, has commiserated with the family of late Abiola Ajimobi, former governor of Oyo State.

Ajimobi died on Thursday in a Lagos hospital at the age of 70.

Amosun, in a letter addressed to the wife of the deceased, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, on Friday, described him as a skilled and educated professional who had a successful career in the private sector.

He also described him as a “good friend and brother who will be remembered for his hard work, sense of humour and diligence in the service of humanity.

“Senator Ajimobi distinguished himself in the service of Oyo State where he made history as the first to be elected governor twice just as in the Senate where he served as a principal officer in the fifth Senate.

“He was a highly skilled and educated professional, who had a successful career in the private sector, culminating in his appointment as the Chief Executive of National Oil Corporation of Nigeria.”

Amosun prayed God to grant the family of the fortitude to bear the “irreparable loss” and Allah to grant the deceased Aljanna Firdaous.
