Leaders the world over have been urged to be strategic in the face of numerous challenges facing the world today in a bid to be able to surmount them.
This was stated by CEO of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Onyema during the presentation of 100 copies of the book “Winning Leadership” donated to the National Defense College in Abuja Wednesday.
Represented by the author of the book Maj. Gen. Pat Akem-Vingir, Onyema recommended that leaders today must keep learning, become agile and must have the energy and learning mindset that is able to adapt because the world keeps changing.
“So they must be able to adapt, navigate uncharted waters of the problems that are coming up and I will expect that when leaders read the book, they will be able to build teams, create alignment and must be able to lead strategically to be able to adopt the vision and run with it.
“I am here this morning and my task is very simple. The commandant will recall that during the presentation of this book on strategic leadership, Dr. Onyema chairman and CEO Air Peace decided to donate 100 copies of the book to National Defense College.
Onyema said the donation is in fulfilment of his pledge and expressed the hope that the donation of the books will improve the faculty of the NDC and further enrich the knowledge of officers and men who attend the College regularly on trainings.
In his remarks, the Commandant National War College, Read Admiral Oladele Doji expressed appreciation to Dr. Allen Onyema for the kind gesture and assured that it will go a long way in further enriching the curriculum especially in the training and research of leadership traits.
“I want to also send you a little message to Dr. Onyema that our institution will also be collaborating with airline on the movements of participants and staff especially when we are going on our tours.
Rear Admiral Doji also commended the author on the publication which he said is very inspiring and urged others to get the book and read in a bid to improve their leadership skills.
He said, “I want to appreciate the kind gesture of Dr. Onyema for the donation of 100 copies of the book. As we all know, we are all aware the NDC is one of the foremost institutions in Nigeria where strategy, leadership as well as mentoring on strategic leadership is undertaken and we are not surprised that you chose the NDC and in actualization of the promise by Dr. onyema with the donations, we thank you and we want to assure you that this publication will go a long way in further enriching the curriculum especially in the training and research of leadership traits”.
