Mohamed Salah will fly to England after Egypt’s clash with Cape Verde on Monday (today).
Salah sustained a hamstring injury in the first half of Black Stars’ 2-2 draw with Cape Verde.
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced that Salah will fly to England on Monday, with ‘hope’ he would return in the semi-finals if the Pharaohs made it all the way there.
The EFA’s statement read: “After conducting additional examinations for Mohamed Salah in the last few hours and following communication between the national team’s medical staff and their counterparts at Liverpool, it has been decided that the player will return to England after tomorrow’s Cape Verde match to continue his treatment. “The hope is that he will join the team in the semi-final of the African Cup of Nations if they qualify.”
The Pharaohs will take on Cape Verde at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.
