Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro was a happy figure after his side earned a place in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at the expense of South Africa.
Peseiro’s side claimed a 4-2 penalty shootout win against the Bafana Bafana in their semi-final encounter at the Stade de la Paix, Bouake on Wednesday night.
William Troost-Ekong gave Nigeria the lead from the spot on 63 minutes, while Teboho Mokoena equalised for Bafana Bafana on the dot of 90 minutes.
The Portuguese, who claimed his side deserved a place in the final also praised the South Africans for their superb display.
“The players deserve to be in the finals, it’s a very good victory against a good team,” Peseiro told reporters after the game.
“I said it earlier that South Africa have the best of organization because they play together and they created more problems for us. It was very difficult to beat them,” he said after the game.” READ ALSO:

The Super Eagles will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on Sunday.
