The Adamawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency has trained 20 officials to implement Algorism for the management of Acute Childhood illness.
The Executive Chairman of the agency, Dr Suleiman Bashir, said this on Friday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola.
Bashir said the programme was being implemented in collaboration with the International Committee for Red Cross.
According to him, Adamawa is the first state in the country to implement the programme in 420 health facilities in the 21 Local Government Areas.
He said the programme had made significant impact by providing quality healthcare services, especially among the children under five.
“The programme has improved the quality of medical consultations and the holistic nature of diagnosis” Bashir said.
He further said that the training was in line with the fulfilment of the National Council on Health in which the state showcases a project designed toward the management of the childhood illness.
He said that five states, including Kano, Kaduna, Gombe,Taraba and Yobe indicated interest in the programme.
He said that the programme was basically an electronic decision support system that emphasises the use of Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses, an e-health initiative. (NAN). READ ALSO:
