The Cheetahs of Benin Republic now face a difficult task of putting up a formidable squad for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Nigeria and Libya due to injuries to some of their key stars.
Cédric Hountondji, Olivier Verdon, Matteo Ahlinvi and David Kiki have all been ruled out of the crucial games.
Hountondji and Verdon were ruled out earlier this week.
Ahlinvi is staying at his Swedish club Vasteras for treatment after sustaining an injury in a league match last weekend.
Kiki is with the squad in Abidjan but is not fit for action yet after recently recovering from a two-month injury layoff.
Benin Republic will host the Super Eagles at the Felix Houphet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Thursday night.The West Africans will be on the road four days later against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.
The Cheetahs currently occupy second position in Group D with six points from four games.
